AI visibility / Measurement
Can an AI visibility tool reproduce what my customers see?
It can record a defined sample of answers, but you should not assume that a monitoring result reproduces every customer conversation. Ask which surface was tested, what context was supplied and whether the answer came from a consumer app or an API. Arrow’s published method separates those collection methods instead of treating them as interchangeable.
Evaluation framework · illustrative workflow
01 / Compare the evidence
What to inspect before you decide.
| Record | Why it matters | What to request |
|---|---|---|
| 01Surface and method | An app observation and an API response describe different test conditions. | Tool, interface and collection method beside every result. |
| 02Question and context | Brand names, previous messages and constraints can change the task. | The complete question and any supplied context. |
| 03Time and repetition | One answer cannot establish a durable trend. | Dates, repeated rounds and any changed settings. |
| 04Complete response | A selected quotation can hide qualifications or another recommendation. | The full answer and cited URLs where available. |
02 / Worked example
Same question, two records
Illustrative example · no client resultCompare “Which platform helps a small team improve AI visibility?” in two explicitly labeled environments. Preserve each answer independently. If the brand appears in only one, report the difference; do not average it away or claim that customers saw either answer.
03 / Put it into practice
A useful next step, with an owner.
- 01
Define the buyer task
Choose an open question without your brand name. Keep a separate branded question if you also want to test factual accuracy.
- 02
Label the collection
Save method, date, question, answer and available sources. Record retrieval settings you can observe rather than guessing hidden settings.
- 03
Interpret the sample
Describe the observations under those conditions. Repeat comparable checks before explaining a change as progress.
04 / Where Arrow fits
Evaluate us by
the same standard.
Arrow is worth evaluating when you want a defined observation panel, a private dashboard and agreed improvements to your public source pages. Ask to inspect the collection labels in an example report.

The details behind the decision.
Should app and API answers share one score?
Only if the report preserves their separate counts and explains exactly how they are combined. Otherwise the score can hide a change in collection method.
Does one missing mention mean we are invisible?
It establishes a non-mention in that valid answer. It does not establish that the brand never appears for other questions or conditions.
Should we include our brand in every question?
No. Keep branded accuracy questions separate from unbranded discovery questions so you can distinguish recognition from discovery.
What if an answer contains no citations?
Keep the answer and mark source availability separately. Do not invent a source or treat the absence of a link as a collection failure.
What does Arrow say about these methods?
Arrow’s published GEO page states that API responses are labeled separately from consumer-app observations. Confirm the selected tools and method in your proposal.
