AI visibility / Scores
Does a high website score mean AI will recommend your company?
No. A website score describes the checks and weights in its formula. An AI recommendation is an observed answer to a particular question under particular conditions. Technical readiness and clear business facts are useful to inspect, but a high score alone cannot establish that your company was recommended or will be recommended.
Evaluation framework · illustrative workflow
01 / Compare the evidence
What to inspect before you decide.
| Signal | What it can establish | What it cannot establish |
|---|---|---|
| 01Website score | Performance against the stated website checklist. | A recommendation in an AI answer. |
| 02Brand mention | The intended brand appears in a captured answer. | That the answer recommends the brand. |
| 03Citation | The response links or attributes information to a source. | That a user clicked or became a customer. |
| 04Recommendation | The captured answer selects or endorses an option under stated criteria. | How often all buyers receive that recommendation. |
02 / Worked example
Keep the two evidence layers visible
Illustrative example · no client resultA readiness report may flag a missing service description. A separate answer record may show that the business was not mentioned for a buyer question. These are two observations. Updating the service page is a documented action; any later recommendation still needs its own captured answer and comparable context.
03 / Put it into practice
A useful next step, with an owner.
- 01
Inspect the formula
Identify the checks, weights, missing-data rules and version.
- 02
Inspect real answers
Request dated responses to the actual buyer questions, including valid non-mentions.
- 03
Report the distinction
Put readiness, observed recommendations and business outcomes in separate fields.
04 / Where Arrow fits
Evaluate us by
the same standard.
Arrow publishes website readiness studies and a separate AI observation method. Read a study according to what it measured, and ask for answer evidence before interpreting a score as visibility.

The details behind the decision.
Is a zero score the same as no AI visibility?
No. Its meaning depends on the formula and missing-data rules. A failed scan should not silently become a valid zero.
Can a company with a weak score still appear?
A website score alone does not determine the content of every AI answer. Check the actual observed responses.
Is a citation the same as a recommendation?
No. A source may be cited for information without being selected as the best option.
Does structured data guarantee an AI citation?
No. Google’s guidance for its AI search features does not specify a special schema that guarantees inclusion. Other tools must be evaluated on their own documented behavior.
What should Arrow rankings disclose?
The study scope, data source, date, score meaning and whether actual AI answers were collected. Readiness scores and observed recommendations should remain distinct.
